Due to the London tube strike Green Cardamom's Lines of Control event at the Royal Geographical Society, with Amar Kanwar in conversation with Iwona Blazwick, has been cancelled.
However Amar Kanwar will be at the Whitechapel Gallery on Thursday September 6th for a special screening of his film, A Season Outside. There will follow an informal discussion of his work with him in the café over complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits.
This is a free event. No booking required. Amar Kanwar is on exhibition in the auditorium of the Whitechapel Gallery until 14th Sept 2007.
Amar Kanwar's A Season Outside is a poetic essay film exploring displacement and the futility of borders in the conditions created by the Partition of the Indian subcontinent; criss-crossing the boundaries of internal and external spaces of people in exile.
Amar Kanwar lives in, and works from, New Delhi. He is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes for his film making and his recent exhibitions include Documenta 12, Kassel and the 2006 Sydney Biennale. |
